Gary started his professional career as a member of the prestigious Airmen of Note, the official jazz ensemble of the U.S. Air Force. As a featured woodwind solo-tenor saxophonist and asst. leader of the, "Note" he toured Europe and the United States performing on numerous recordings and TV shows. Having mastered 13 instruments, Gary spent 12 years as soloist with the Caesars Palace Orchestra in Las Vegas, playing for Frank Sinatra (with whom he did over 1,000 performances), Sammy Davis, Tony Bennett, and Diana Ross, as well as Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby, Lena Horne, Ann Margaret, Steve Lawrence & Edie Gorme, Paul Anka, and many more. Gary also played for the Diana Ross & Patti Page TV Specials and Frank Sinatra's 40th Anniversary In Show Biz Special. In a jazz mode he built a reputation in small groups with Charlie Ventura, Johnny Smith, Frank Rossolino, Ray Brown, Mundell Lowe, Sonny Stitt, and Herb Geller, as well as Doc Severinsen, Clark Terry, Louis Bellson, and Eddie Daniels. He formed the San Diego Jazz Orchestra and the Gary Scott Orchestra which has backed such international stars as Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, Lou Rawls, Keely Smith, Andy Williams, and Tony Bennett.

He has done several tours of the UK fronting some of the UK's top rhythm sections at Harri's Jazz in Shepperton, Spike's Place in Brentwood, the Pizza Express Dean St., The Concorde Club-S'hampton, Rusislip Jazz Club, Peterborough, Boxford, Rawittenstall, & The Georgian Hotel-Haslemere, with some of UK's great musicians, John Pearce, John Donaldson, Pete Morgan, Martin Drew, Leon Clayton,Steve Brown, Danny Moss, Clark Tracy, Nick Weldon, and visiting US Sax Artist Ricky Woodard to name just a few. Gary was originally brought to the UK by Susan May Robinson and toured with the late great Spike Robinson both here in the UK and in Europe. He came over specially to play for a Memorial Tribute Concert to Spike at Harri's Jazz in 2/02 where he played with Derek Nash, John Donaldson, Paul Morgan & Martin Drew. He has released two albums with world class jazzmen. The first, "Try a Little Tenderness" a collection of all-time best loved ballads all played on tenor sax to capture that sultry feeling of love, features Mike Wofford, Bab Magnusson, & Jim Plank, and has been re-released after a sell-out as "Gary Scott Ballads". His second album, "Just Friends" has received critical acclaim in the US jazz review magazine, "Jazz News". Gary will be playing again with world renowned guitarist Art Johnson in Nice, Antibes and Cannes. Then on to the UK for his tenth European tour as a jazz soloist.

- Played in Fred Radkes' Jazz Lab Band, was introduced by Fred to Corky Corcoran, studied one summer with Corky.
- Went on the road with Circus Vargas for five months after college
- professional brass and woodwind repair tech. since 1993 ( Renton Technical College)
- Currently full time repair tech at Music 6000 in Olympia
-Long time avid bicyclist; commute to M6K from Delphi area for work, currently building a custom road bike.
- Getting into lathe/machinist work for fun.
